Do Not Sell or Share
My Personal Information
California (and several other state) privacy laws give you the right to opt out of having your information shared with third-party estate planning providers. Here's how.
What this opt-out does
If you previously ticked the “share my contact info with an estate planning provider” checkbox on our Find an advisor page (or any similar surface), we may have shared a contact + context profile with a vetted estate planning attorney or firm so they could reach out. Submitting this opt-out tells us:
- Stop sharing your information with new providers going forward.
- Notify any provider we already shared with and ask them to remove you from their outreach list.
- Honor your request across our other surfaces (email nurture, in-product prompts, etc.).
The contents of your DearGrove document have always stayed private and were never shared. The opt-out applies only to the contact + context information described in our Privacy Policy.
How to opt out
Send a short email to support@deargrove.com with subject line:
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Send the email from the address you used to sign in to Dear Grove. (We use the email as your identifier so we can match your record.) You don't need to include any other info, though you're welcome to add a note if you have specific questions.
What happens next
- Within 1 business day: we reply confirming we received your request.
- Within 15 days: we mark your record as “do not contact,” remove you from any active outreach list, and notify any provider we already shared with.
- Going forward: we will not share your information with any new estate planning provider, and the opt-in checkbox on our forms will stay unchecked for you. You can opt back in at any time by ticking the box again.
Do you also want to delete your account?
Opting out of sharing is a separate action from deleting your DearGrove account. If you want to also delete your account (which removes the DearGrove document, your sign-in credentials, and everything else), use the “Delete account” option in your Settings, or include the request in your opt-out email and we'll handle both at once.
Authorized agent requests
You may designate an authorized agent to submit this request on your behalf. The agent must include written authorization (a signed letter or PDF is fine) and we will verify your identity directly before processing.
Right to non-discrimination
Opting out has no effect on your DearGrove account, your access to the document you paid for, or the price you paid. We will not deny service, charge a different price, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised your privacy rights.
